Keep your scalp completely dry — no washing, swimming, or heavy sweating. Avoid touching or scratching the treated area. Don't apply any products to your scalp, including moisturizers or sunscreen. Sleep on a clean pillowcase and avoid activities that cause excessive sweating.
You can now gently wash your scalp with lukewarm water and a mild, fragrance-free shampoo. Pat dry gently — don't rub. Some light flaking is normal and part of the healing process. Don't pick at any scabs or flaking skin.
Avoid swimming pools, saunas, steam rooms, and hot tubs. Limit sun exposure and wear a hat when outdoors. Don't shave with a razor for at least 10 days; electric trimmers are fine after day 4. Avoid intense workouts that cause heavy sweating for the first week.
Always apply SPF 30+ sunscreen to your scalp when exposed to sun. UV rays are the biggest factor in fading. Keep your scalp moisturized with a light, non-greasy moisturizer. Maintain a regular shaving routine to keep the look fresh and defined.
Your SMP will appear darker immediately after treatment — this is normal. Over the first 7-10 days, it will lighten by 30-40% as it heals. Some redness is normal and will subside within 24-48 hours. Final results are visible after complete healing, typically 4-6 weeks.
